In less than 12-minutes during an Oval Office address to the American public, President Joe Biden desperately tried to sound noble without mentioning he was pitifully forced to drop out of the 2024 president campaign, while asserting some lofty questions and statements. 

“When you elected me to this office, I promised to always level with you, to tell you the truth…" he stated.  

But, then he did not. 

“Does character in public life still matter?”

Yes, it does and yet, Biden's ’Farewell Speech’ proved once again that Joe Biden fell short on character because he was not transparent.  

Americans were led to believe the purpose of the speech was to offer insight about how he changed his mind from Friday when Jen O'Malley Dillion, his 2020 and 2024 campaign manager, had been absolutely adamant about Biden staying in the race, and the catalyst that led to president to change his mind last Sunday at 1:46pm when he posted on X that he was ending his 2024 democratic presidential campaign. 

Why is it historically significant? 

Because no incumbent president has dropped out of the race like this since LBJ dropped out in 1968. Matter of fact, LBJ dropped out well before now back in 1968.

Biden has garnered 14 million votes during the 2024 primary/caucus season although his pitbull political operatives did everything in their power to thwart any seriously challenges. They worked overtime to knock out Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. from any serious competition within the Democratic Party. Even if RFK, Jr. had won primaries or caucuses, the Democratic National Committee was claiming the winners other than Biden would not get their delegates. 

When RFK, Jr. then pivoted to run as an independent last October, the same DNC pitbulls orchestrated by O’Malley Dillion and Anita Dunn and others negotiated with CNN that RFK, Jr. was not on the network's debate stage with Biden and Trump on June 27.  

Now, the public is being asked to believe Biden’s hollow words Wednesday about dropping out to “unite my party in this critical endeavor,” or as he stated, “Nothing can come in the way of saving democracy.“

To Biden, climate change and Trump and every other issue are existential threats. It is the end of democracy if the democrats lose power. No, it just may be that common sense and sane policies win if the democratic progressives are beaten by a landslide. 

Perhaps, RFK, Jr. was also an existential threat and that was why they worked so hard not to be fair to him. 

Biden’s choice of words and delivery, or lack thereof, blew up his own credibility Wednesday, and those who orchestrated his tangled and protracted ouster by the likes of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, major donors, and every political democratic operative were not the least bit ashamed in abandoning Joe Biden. Their brawny bluster of backroom shenanigans was transactional. 

Only America today does not know exactly what the quid pro quo is, but we know there is the 'Delaware Biden Way,' which will eventually surface. 

"We love you, Joe - This was ‘just' politics moving you to the curb," the powers-that-be exclaimed. 

That was not how the Biden family received their demands. 

Biden’s declaration that he was “putting aside any personal ambition for the sake of democracy,”also was not credible Wednesday. 

The president offered no explanation why he had come to his conclusion to drop out, and once again he was expecting the American public to buy into his feckless and haughty statements. 

The truth is that he is dropping out because the next steps pressuring him to drop out of the race would have been harsher, if he had decided to stay in the race. 

Biden dropped out not to “save democracy,” but to “save his legacy” if there is one because his fellow democrats were determined to get him out of their way for their own political survivability for the house, senate, and down ballot democratic races.

They see the potential of a tsunami coming their way. 

Biden's decision has nothing to do with unifying the country or his party. Matter of fact, it was never his decision in the first place. It was his critics’ decision to stop the bleed with his name at the top of the ticket. 

The selfish political intervention targeting his exit was of epic proportions. The party powerbrokers knew he has the potential to lose in November. 

The question was whether his burn was going to set the entire democratic house and senate elections on fire with his name on the top of the ticket, and melt the down ballot races like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz. 

The party turned on Joe Biden. His family was resentful. Biden and his family were angry and felt betrayed. But, how could they? 

Who betrayed whom is for the historians. Who knew about Joe Biden's dementia and when will offset any betrayal in the history books.  

The bottom line is those who refused to support Biden's 2016 presidential candidacy repeated their rejection of the president yet once again while he was sleeping in the White House. 

Their rejection stung now like a baseball bat to a bee’s nest. 

The White House press office stated that ‘Scranton Joe’ was not resigning over health issues earlier this week. There was no coverup hiding his dementia even though those close to Biden were aware. He was not a lame duck president, but that is what he is no matter how he massages his reality. In their eyes, he is toast burning their lights. 

One need only remember that former President Barack Obama is no novice when it comes to throwing an opponent under the bus.That is "Obama's Chicago Way.” Obama has had a long friendship with Kamala Harris well before she became a U.S. senator. 

Now, that the mantle has been passed figuratively, there is still the coronation - the official ballot vote - and who knows between now and then if all will be smooth sailing for the democrats and Kamala Harris.

How the democrat powerbrokers have handled this situation is the antithesis of democracy and a slap in the face to those 14 million voters, who may have decided upon someone other than Kamala Harris if the primary/caucus were really open and if their national convention were to be open. 

For now, the baton has been thrown to a woman whose White House staff had a 92% turnover rated. That does not sound like a fun or healthy place to work. It sounds more toxic and chaotic. 

Ironically, Kamala Harris, who promotes the 1619 Project, is a descendant of slave owners, which she never addresses. 

She is in favor of getting rid of red meat, plastic straws, criminal charges for those who come to the U.S. illegally and private health insurance. 

The vice-president is against fracking and drilling, and says she will sign a federal bill that legalizes abortion even though the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the legality of abortions is left to the states. 

She has called 18-24-year-olds “stupid,” and called for free tuition for college-bound students. 

She has been in favor of decriminalizing marijuana and admitted she has smoked marijuana.  While a prosecutor, she convicted those engaged with marijuana crimes and sent them to prison.

She has even raised the idea that perhaps criminals in jail ought to have the right to vote. 

She is for the green new deal and has mentioned a reduction in population in the same paragraph. 

In August 2020, she blamed Trump for closing down the Gain of Function Protect Project at USAID so she is in bed with PHARMA because that industry benefits from this unregulated and dangerous Frankenstein science. 

Harris has bragged for years, and even as recent as this week, that she has prosecuted sex offenders ignoring a glaring gap in reality. 

While a prosecutor in San Francisco, and later as the California Attorney General, Catholic sex survivors have repeatedly challenged her for years for not releasing documentation that would have helped these Catholic sex survivors with their civil suits. 

As the Catholic dioceses were imploding over sex scandals twenty years ago when Harris was first elected to be a prosecutor, the California legislature passed a bill extending statute of limitation for civil sex abuse cases. Her predecessor worked with victims and their attorneys, but when Harris took over the office, she shut down that co-operation with the Catholic victims and their lawyers for access to the files on the perverted religious. After she was elected California Attorney General she stood her ground and continued to deny the victims access to these files. 

In the future, the public needs to remember that Kamala Harris did not stand with Catholic Church sex survivors. 

The victims believe that is because of the political power of the Catholic Church in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In San Francisco, where she began her political career on the arm of former Speaker of the California Assembly Willie Brown, it was a political no-no to go after the Catholic Church. 

She also failed on the immigration border issue and is in favor of sanctuary cities. 

But, the day after Joe’s ‘Farewell,’ there was an attempt to claim Kamala Harris was never the 'Border Czar.'  

This is the leader that Biden endorsed on Wednesday as “the best way forward to a new generation,” and “the best way to unite our nation.” 

Biden mentioned that he was going to finish his tenure. In the near future, he is going to make news strides “defending our personal freedoms.” 

That alone is at odds with the facts known so far and scrutinizing Kamala Harris is neither racist or sexist. 

Is she who she says she is and did she do what was her responsibility or is she just a political puppet with an enormous ambitious appetite who will say and do anything to climb that Peter Principle ladder? 

If she is for drag queens in front of children then that may explain why she did not help the Catholic Church sex survivors? 

If she is for any age receiving puberty blockers and operations that mutilate a child's body without parental consent, the public should be asking what donors are contributing to her campaign? 

That is the standard that should be applied to Vice-President Kamala Harris.

Biden's legacy will forever go down in history as that of the Biden-Harris administration completely in violation of the First Amendment and all of its five pillars - freedoms of speech, assembly, religion, press and petitioning the government. 

The Biden-Harris administration will be forever be mired in violating laws and later legally swinging it out in courts proving that is the only way Biden knows how to govern - by violation and litigation. 

In the meantime, the GOP-led House passed a resolution Thursday "strongly condemning" Vice President Kamala Harris for her performance as the border czar.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), House Republican Conference Chair, introduced the resolution. 

It formally condemns the Biden administration for failing to "secure the U.S. border," pointing to 9.7 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide since January 2021.

The House passed the resolution - 220 to 196 - with the support of all Republicans and six Democrats.

“I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she's the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border,” Biden said at a White House migration meeting over three years ago, on March 24, 2021. 

Retired Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz revealed that he never 'had one conversation' with Harris during the two years he headed the agency. 

Harris's role in securing the nation's border is likely to resonate with voters as it has consistently polled as a top issue for voters this election cycle. 

A Harvard Harris poll at the end of March found that immigration was the number one issue - above inflation or the economy.  

In June 2024, another poll found 62% of Americans favor a mass deportation to remove the recent illegal migrants.  

Vice-President Harris has disagreed with that position for years. 

"An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal," she posted on X in 2017. 

"It's ludicrous to say we're going to deport 12 million people. Now how are you going to do that?" she posted. 

As Vice-President and as 'Border Czar,' Harris has only visited the U.S.-Mexico border once.  

She did so in June 2021 after a contentious interview with NBC News' Lester Holt, in which she claimed 'We've been to the border,' and Holt responded forcefully, 'You have not been to the border.'

'…And I haven't been to Europe,' Harris snapped unashamedly.

Two weeks later, Harris and her team visited El Paso, Texas.

Just this past week, tens of thousand illegal immigrants have been reported marching in a caravan from Guatemala heading to the U.S. border hoping to arrive before the November election. 

During his ‘Farewell Speech,’ Biden characterized Harris as “experienced, tough, capable.”

“She’s been an incredible partner to me and leader for our country,” said President Biden. 

She's experienced all right, but not for dealing with reality any more than Biden is. 

Harris was never "tough" with the Catholic Church on behalf of those survivors raped by the Catholic religious and the church's coverup. 

That is called institutional human trafficking and the southern border crises is another human trafficking operation. 

If a woman does not care about protecting children - other people's children - it does not matter whether someone is a pope or a president, that person is not a "tough" and "capable" leader. Furthermore, if she has never done her job when in a position to protect children that says it all. 

She is not a leader because she lacks the moral courage to do the right thing just because it is the right thing to do to protect all children. 

Today, in America, we have over 500,000 unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border. There are tens of thousands of children who have gone missing and unaccounted for which is a national moral failure and a concerning national disgrace.

Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Thursday after FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested Trump’s ear wound during the July 13 assassination attempt might not have been inflicted from a bullet from shooter Thomas Crooks at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally. 

During a congressional hearing on Wednesday, Christopher Wray said the FBI was uncertain whether Trump was wounded by a bullet, shrapnel or flying glass. 

The former president responded with a ‘classic Trump response’ reminding the FBI and the world that the FBI “never even checked” with him. 

“Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn't sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively 'uneventful,'” Trump wrote. "Wrong!"

“That's why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels. His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments - with zero retribution," he added. 

“No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a 'bullet wound to the ear,' and that is what it was. No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America," he added.

Tennessee Republican Congressman Andy Ogles Tuesday introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris, according to Politico’s Olivia Beavers.

The articles accused Harris of "high crimes and misdemeanors," claiming she  "has willfully and systemically refused to uphold Federal immigration laws, in that: In her conduct of the Office of Vice President of the United States, Kamala Devi Harris... has willfully prevented, obstructed, and impeded the administration of justice."

They further claim Harris has "demonstrated extraordinary incompetence in the execution of her duties."

Ogles filed the articles of impeachment two days after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection.

Vice President Kamala Harris rallied voters in battleground Wisconsin  Tuesday during her first presidential campaign event since securing enough delegates for the Democratic nomination. 

She still needs the formality of a vote, which is expected to precede the August convention in Chicago.  

“…I will spend the coming weeks continuing to unite our party so that we are ready to win in November," Harris said to an audience, but she said nothing about uniting the country following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennslyvania on July 13.

Harris attacked Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, on the issue of abortion based upon medical autonomy. 

"We'll stop Donald Trump's extreme abortion bans because we trust women to make decisions about their own body and not have the government tell them what to do," Harris said to an applause. "And when Congress passes the law to restore reproductive freedoms, as president of the United States, I will sign it into law,” but Harris said nothing about mandated COVID-19 vaccinations which the Biden Harris administration ordered and pushed that defies medical autonomy. 

As a result of mandated vaccinations and the numerous neurological, vascular, and cardio injuries due to the Covid-19 shots, Harris has  demonstrated a glaring gap of reality.

It is now well-established that PHARMA manufacturers of Covid-19 shots did not follow clinical trains standards or manufacturing standards. To date, the FDA has never officially recognized the vascular and neurological injuries - only the cardio injuries - even though the FDA, CDC, NIH, NIAID and Biden White House has known about the vascular and neurological injuries since early 2021. 

Harris as a former prosecutor on Monday in Delaware at campaign headquarters stated that she knew how to deal with former President Donald Trump “type” following his  34-count felony fraud charges and civil sex assault conviction. 

But, Harris never admitted the she is well-known for abandoning Catholic sex abuse victims while San Francisco's district attorney and California's attorney general. In both roles, she begged off prosecuting the San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Jose dioceses over their sex scandals against children. She also failed to prosecute the Jesuits Provincial Center where two disabled men were raped by perverted priests for decades. That particular case resulted in a $75 million civil settlement. 

"In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds: predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain," she said. "So, hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump's type."

That statement was repeated on Monday in Delaware. 

But, Harris never brought up the fact that in 2020, she supported the looters and demonstrators who vandilized  private property across America during the Black Lives Matters demonstrators. 

At that time, she encouraged demonstrators to “not stop and they should not stop.”

New Jersey Democratic U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, 70, is expected to tender his resignation from the Senate effective August 20 following his July 16 conviction in a federal corruption trial.

A Manhattan federal jury found Menendez guilty on charges that included: fraud, bribery, obstruction of justice, and acting as a foreign agent for the Egyptian government.

The senator was convicted of charges that he sold the power of his office to three New Jersey businessmen seeking favors and used his influence to meddle in three different state and federal criminal investigations. The prosecutors alleged that the senator helped a friend get a multimillion-dollar with a Qatari investment fund and helped another keep a contract to provide religious certification for meat bound for Egypt.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, a Democrat, will choose an interim replacement after receiving Menendez's resignation. 

The seat was already up for election this fall. Democrats have nominated U.S. Congressman Andy Kim in the Democratic-leaning state. He faces Republican Curtis Bashaw.

Eight American hostages taken by the Hamas terrorists on October 7 and still held in captivity is not enough for presidential candidate Kamala Harris to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the Joint Session of Congress Wednesday.  

This decision was made on the heels of emotional displays at the Republican National Convention last week with Gold Star families who had lost their loved one during August 2021 American pullout in Afghanistan, and the pleas of an Israeli American’s parents who son is still held in captivity. 

Instead, Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), the retiring chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is set to preside over Netanyahu’s speech, fiing a role traditionally held by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris is set to be traveling on Wednesday on what her office said was a pre-arranged trip to Indianapolis. She is expected to meet with Netanyahu separately this week. 

Senate President Pro Tempore Patty Murray (D-WA) would ordinarily be next in line after Harris to preside over the session, but the Washington senator has declined to do so and will not be attending the speech.

Murray is also the chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Her absence Wednesday may be an indication that other democrats are expected to skip Netanyahu’s speech. Murray was not among the lawmakers who skipped Netanyahu’s 2015 congressional address.

“Securing a lasting, mutual ceasefire is of the utmost importance right now, and I will continue to push for one to be reached as soon as possible,” Murray said in a statement. “I hope Prime Minister Netanyahu will use the opportunity to address how he plans to secure a ceasefire — and lasting peace in the region.”

Netanyahu will have some private meetings when he comes to the Capitol this week, including with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). 

Johnson said last week he would be increasing security inside the House chamber in anticipation of possible protests — which could come from disgruntled members seeking to disrupt the speech, or from guests invited by anti-Israel lawmakers, or from anti-Israel staffers, some of whom have joined protests on Capitol Hill since the October 7 attack and Israel’s response. Authorities began erecting riot fencing around the Capitol Monday evening.

On Tuesday, about 100 demonstrators took over the floor of Cannon Office Building and were later arrested. 

A coalition of groups that have been critical of Israel’s operations in Gaza are set to host an event inside a House office building to counter-program with the Netanyahu speech, with remarks from Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Israeli and Palestinian anti-war activists Maoz Inon and Aziz Abu Sarah.

The hosts of that event include: the Center for American Progress, Center for International Policy, Middle East Democracy Center, Win Without War, Americans for Peace Now and Common Defense. 

Some of those groups have called for cutting off U.S. support for Israel.

Congressional members Don Beyer (D-VA), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Robert Garcia (D-CA) will not be attending Netanyahu’s speech, as well as Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Some close to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s camps, namely, Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and Sara Jacobs (D-CA) and Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) are set to skip the speech.

Schakowsky said that Netanyahu is “among other things, bad for the state of Israel,” -  “wants to see the continuation of this war” and “doesn’t seem to care at all about the hostages.”

Garcia said that “this is not the right timing” for the speech while hostages remain in Gaza and before a cease-fire deal has been reached.

“His focus should be completely on the work that’s got to be done in Israel and Gaza,” Garcia, who was the beneficiary of support from AIPAC’s United Democracy Project in his 2022 primary race, said.

Beyer said he wants to read Netanyahu’s remarks “but I don’t want to elevate his presence.”

Several members, including Congressman Jim Clyburn  (D-SC), Jim McGovern (D-MA), Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Mark Takano (D-CA) invited members to attend an event with hostage families on Wednesday morning, ahead of the speech.

Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) declined to stipulated if he would attend the speech, but his office noted that he will release a statement on Tuesday.  

Congressman  Ro Khanna (D-CA) said he was attending the Clyburn event instead of the Netanyahu speech, though the two events are not being held simultaneously. 

Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA), the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee, said he would be skipping the speech but that he does the same with all joint session speeches.

Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA), who did not attend Netanyahu’s Congress speech in 2015, will be attending this time.

“It’s a show of respect to the country,” Jackson, who has been critical of Israel’s operations in Gaza, said. “Although I have serious misgivings about the leadership of Mr. Netanyahu, I do support Israel and so I think I have an obligation as a member of Congress to hear the head of state of Israel.”

Hoyer, who had warned that the speech might not be helpful for support of Israel, said it’s up to members to decide whether to attend, but “I am going to be there. He is the prime minister of a country, the prime minister of Israel, a country I am very close to and I support very strongly.”

A host of protests are planned for outside the Capitol Building during the speech, including by anti-Israel demonstrators, Jewish groups critical of the war and Jewish groups critical of Netanyahu.

UnXeptable, the grassroots Israeli-American anti-Netanyahu group initially formed to protest Israel’s judicial reform efforts, is leading one of the protests at the same time of Netanyahu’s speech. 

Offir Gutelzon, the co-founder of UnXeptable, called Netanyahu a man who “divides and conquer.” 

Gutelzon said Netanyahu should not address Congress before signing a hostage deal.

The Washington, D.C. law firm of Covington & Burling, where former Attorney General Eric Holder is employed, will lead the vetting process for the prospective democratic vice-presidential candidates. 

Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign has requested vetting materials from at least eight candidates for the democratic vice presidential slot so far. 

The list includes one U.S. senator, a former U.S. congressman and six governors. 

U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona; 

Former Louisiana Congressman Cedric Richmond;

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper;

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer;

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro;

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz;

llinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker; 

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.

Editor's Note: After becoming apparent that the Secret Service lied to the nation and elements of the agency were likely involved in the assassination attempt of President Trump, and a disastrous Congressional hearing, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is reported to have resigned.

Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle resigned Tuesday.

House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that it was “the right decision.” 

It was far more than the right decision, it was inevitable that she would resign or more members of Congress would have demanded she be fired with further humiliation following her horrendous testimony before the House Oversight Committee on Capitol Hill Monday, where she studiously and intentionally refused to answer questions even when she knew the answers. 

Cheatle not only appeared unprepared Monday, she repeatedly stated, “I will have to get back to you on that.” 

For reasons that seem too inexplicable, U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, the second woman to lead the agency, refused to answer even simple questions frustrating the committee members on both sides of the aisle. 

Members of the House Oversight Committee castigated the director Monday over her agency's failure to prevent the attempted assassination of former President Trump that wounded the Republican presidential nominee, left one man dead, and two others seriously injured.

The congressional committee members were not only exasperated, but tempers flared. Many called for her resignation, and, if not, they wanted her fired, and before the hearing ended, one member called for an official review of her testimony for possible perjury charges. 

She not only looked unprepared, she repeatedly said, “I will have to get back you on that” repeatedly noting an ongoing FBI investigation. 

"It is my firm belief, Director Cheatle, that you should resign," House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY.) said at the outset of the hearing.

Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the top ranking democrat on the panel, called for her resignation, because Cheatle has "lost the confidence of Congress at a very urgent and tender moment in the history of the country."

"Director Cheatle, because Donald Trump is alive, and thank God he is, you look incompetent," said Congressman Mike Turner (R-OH). "If Donald Trump had been killed, you would have looked culpable."

Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) was so mad she cursed at Cheatle and told her she was "full of s**t" and "completely dishonest" for not giving a direct answer to a question about providing the committee materials they requested ahead of the hearing.

Congressman Tim Burchett (R) called Cheatle a "DEI horror story." 

Cheatle told lawmakers that "no requests" were denied for the rally, although CDM earlier reported that the Trump campaign had requested more Secret Service detail which had been denied for months.

Cheatle did admit that Secret Service was informed "somewhere between two and five times" about a suspicious individual at the site of the Pennsylvania rally.

She admitted that she had spoken with the sniper who killed Crooks, but refused to disclose details of that conversation deflecting on the fact that there was an ongoing FBI investigation. 

Unlike some members of Congress who had visited the rally site, Cheatle had not even though she attended the Republican National Convention. 

"I just don't think this is partisan. If you have an assassination attempt on a president, a former president or a candidate, you need to resign," said Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA). 

"I think that I am the best person to lead the Secret Service at this time."Cheatle told the committee Monday and when she said that the Secret Service's internal investigation would be completed in 60 days, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) emphatically slammed that timeline as "unacceptable."

Comer and Raskin issued a letter calling for Cheatle's resignation shortly after the Monday hearing ended.

In the letter, the two congressmen said Cheatle should resign to allow "new leadership to swiftly address this crisis and rebuild the trust of a truly concerned Congress and the American people."

After more than 50 years in public life, President Joe Biden announced on X Sunday that he is dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. 

The inevitable decision was made after enormous pressure brought to bear by former President Barack Obama, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, New York Senator Chuck Schumer and even Senator Joe Manchin as late as Sunday with a growing list of democrats and donors called Biden to drop out ever since Biden's dismal debate performance on June 27. 

Joe Biden now becomes a lame duck president less than a year from the end of his presidential term. 

It was an inevitable decision and required some serious negotiations behind the scenes knowing of the rumors that Jill Biden’s ex-husband is expected to release a book on the Biden family this coming week. The narrative of that book is expected to even contradict the long-held narrative about how and when Joe Biden really met Jill Biden. The standing Biden family narrative was that Joe and Jill met after Joe Biden's first wife and daughter died in an automobile crash in December 1972.

According to Bill Stevenson, Jill Biden's ex-husband, Joe and Jill Biden met in the Biden's kitchen before the car crash. The Biden family narrative has been for decades that Joe and Jill met on a blind date several years after the car crash. 

Biden wrote in his statement that he will address the public in a speech about his decision later in the week. 

Biden framed his decision as in "the best interest of [his] party and the country."

"It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President," read Biden's statement, which stated he had every intention of seeking reelection.

Stepping aside, the statement reads, will allow Biden "to focus solely on fulfilling [his] duties as President for the remainder of [his] term."

Biden's statement highlighted the milestones of his administration, including appointing "the first African American woman to the Supreme Court" and passing "significant climate legislation."

His statement fell short of passing the mantle to Vice-President Kamala Harris, but the president graciously thanked and praised Harris for being “an extraordinary partner," but later put out a posting on X endorsing Harris.
