The themes of the second day of the Republican National Convention were “Make America Safe Again” and “Unity.”

With the party’s confidence soaring, much of Day two belonged to Senate candidates eager to give former President Trump a Republican majority come November.

    Senate GOP Candidates

Kari Lake of Arizona, Eric Hovde of Wisconsin, Bernie Moreno of Ohio, Mike Rogers of Michigan, Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania took to the stage.

Sharing the stage with them were others.

Congressman Jim Banks of Indiana, a veteran, who is running for the Senate, minced no words.

“Joe Biden is an embarrassment over Afghanistan, where 13 Americans died and Joe Biden lied about it,” said Banks.

Governor Jim Justice of West Virginia, who is running for Joe Manchin’s seat, brought along his famous bulldog, Babydog, who has her own social media account.

Referring to Babydog, “She makes me smile. I challenge the media to find the bottom line to why we are here. We will become totally unhinged if Trump is not elected in November,” said Justice. “Trump loves this country beyond good sense,” he added.

Captain Sam Brown of Nevada, who has his eyes on the Senate, nailed the severity of the moment with so many wars erupting under Joe Biden's administration. September 2008 changed his liefe when his tank ran over an IED in Afghanistan and his body was on fire.

“Thank my God for my life...Look at my face. This is the high cost of war,” said Brown.

Turning to Trump who was sitting in the stands, “Sir I’ve got your back. I”ve got you,” just like the man said to Brown when he was saved in Afghanistan.

Tim Sheehy of Montana, a retired Navy Seal referred to his home state as a place “where boys are boys and girls are girls.”

Hung Cao of Virginia had a powerful message. He is running against Tim Kane, who was Hillary Clinton’s vice-presidential choice.

His family  escaped from Vietnam days before the fall of Saigon. He is a graduate of the Naval Academy and gave 25 years of service to America in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia.

Cao criticized the millions of illegals in the U.S., the students carrying Hamas flags and carrying 'Death to America' signs.

“As an immigrant, don’t ask for the American dreams unless you are willing to embrace the American culture,” said Cao.

Senator Rick Scott of Florida who is challenging Mitch McConnell leadership position enthusiastically boasted to convention hall, “They will lose. We will win.”

    Evening Program

New York Congressman Elise Stefanik, Chair of the House Republican Conference,  referred to Galatians 6:9.

“We will never give up on President Trump,” said Stefanik.

Speaker Mike Johnson followed and behind him, Vivek Ramaswamy, and

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, an African American Mayor, who won when he was a democrat, but flipped to the Republican Party.

But, the moment everyone was waiting for was Trump’s former rival during the 2024 primary season, former UN Ambassador and South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley.

“President Trump asked me to speak at the convention in the name of unity,” said Haley. “Donald Trump has my Strongest endorsement. Period."

"Our country is at a critical moment. After seeing the debates, everyone knows it,” Haley added.

"For the sake of our country, We have a country to save. A unified Republican Party is essential to saving her.

A strong president does not start wars. A strong president prevents wars. Trump got us out of insane Iran deal, toughest sanctions on Iranian..." Haley pleaded.

“But when Donald Trump was president, Putin did nothing … no invasions, no wars. That was no accident. Putin didn’t attack Ukraine because he knew Donald Trump was tough,” she said. "A strong president does not start wars, a strong president prevents wars."

“And then there is Joe Biden,” Haley stated, landing her comparative point.

Victims’ families spoke, including the family of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five who was killed while jogging in 2023 on a trail near her home in Bel Air, Maryland.

She was murdered by Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, an undocumented immigrant who is also suspected of two sexual assaults in California and a murder in his home country, El Salvador.  Biden and Harris never called Morin's family, but Trump reached out to them.

Madeline Brame, an African American woman, whose family was touched by Manhattan District Attorney Alan Bragg, as has the Trump family. Her son was murdered in 2018 by gang members he did not know. The murderers were basically given a slap on the wrist by Bragg, and she is now exposing Bragg and giving moral support to victims of crimes when the prosecutors let murderers off easy and the families do not see justice.

Arkansas Governor Sandra Huckabee Sanders, America’s youngest governor, reminded the audience of how supportive the former president was when she served as his Press Secretary and she was criticized and brutally trashed by the press and the public. Trump always offered her a word of encouragement.

The last speaker of the night was the eloquent Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump, and now Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee.

She spoke how she had prepared a different speech for the convention up until 6:11 pm EDT last Saturday when the assassination attempt upon Donald Trump was executed on LIVE TV. Lara reminded the audience that this was a special time in history and how necessary it is to re-elect her father-in-law, Donald J. Trump.
